Natural Perfections: Triune + Eternally Self-Existent

Natural Perfections
God is…

Triune
God exists in three Persons, revealed to us as Father, Son and Spirit. The three are co-equal, co-eternal, and one in essence. They are one God (‘what’) yet three persons (‘who’). (See extended discussion above.) It follows from the relationships evidenced in the Trinity that God is relational.

Eternally Self-Existent
The Father, Son and Spirit have no origin, for they came from no-where, and are the only uncreated beings (Genesis 1:1). God exists endlessly (Psalm 90:2; Genesis 21:33), has always existed and is completely free and independent of His creation (Isaiah 40:13-14). God’s existence is clearly seen in nature, which reveals His divine power and role as Creator (Romans 1:18-20). Having no cause to come into existence, He is the Cause of all things for they depend completely on Him, and He depends on no one but Himself, and thus will never cease to exist (Revelation 1:8; 22:13).

  • What is deTheos?

The two Greek words de ("but") and Theos ("God") are the first two words of Ephesians 2:4: "But God, who is rich in mercy..." Because of God's great love and grace extending to us in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven, redeemed and able to know, love + enjoy God more fully, ever-increasing and forever.
This site contains the thoughts and conclusions and journeys of the Patterson family -- Jeff, Kari and Dutch -- who have experienced the front-end of God's amazing grace, and continue to delight in His unfailing love.
