Transcendent yet Immanent
Transcendent yet Immanent
God is distinct and separate from His creation (John 8:23). His being, thoughts and ways transcend time, space, human thoughts and all matter (Isaiah 55:8-9). While wholly separate from His creation (Isaiah 6:1-5), God is active and present (Jer. 23:24) within nature, human nature and history (Acts 17:27-28). He is immanent in the universe, specifically working out His wise program and plan. Related to His work as the self-sustaining Creator, God is near His creation to sustain it, for all things are dependent upon Him (Job 34:14-15; Matt. 5:45; 6:25-30; 10:29-30).
