Savior, Redeemer, Lord
Savior, Redeemer, Lord
Jesus Christ came as the great God and Savior of the Old Testament (Isa. 6:1:1-2; Luke 4:18-19; Titus 2:13) and died to bring us to God (1 Peter 3:18). The Good News (Gospel) of Jesus is that in Him believing sinners, and the rest of the created universe outside humanity, are brought back to a right relationship with God and can enjoy Him as the fountain and aim of all pleasures. He has become their everlasting joy, and Lord (Master; Rom. 10:9-13). Jesus is our Savior, making propitiation for our sins, and justifying us to a just and holy God (Romans 3:21-26). He demonstrates God’s perfect, unconditional love (Romans 5:6-8), is the basis of all forgiveness (1 John 1:9), and has come to save and redeem all those He in love foreknew (Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 1:7; John 3:16).
